16-01-08
ICLEI Member Ann Arbor (Michigan, U.S.A.) was recently honoured as the recipient of the Inspiring Efficiency Leadership Award. Ann Arbor was recognized for ITS Ann Arbor Energy Office, and the Office’s long-standing commitment to sustainable energy use. The Energy Office manages projects and programs, develops information resources, and provides expert advice to move the city toward more sustainable energy use. The Award was one of eight awards that are given annually by the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance. The most innovative businesses and organizations in the Midwest received recognition for their forward thinking innovations and accomplishments in energy efficiency. The Alliance (MEEA) is a collaborative network advancing energy efficiency in the Midwest U.S.A. to support sustainable economic development and environmental preservation. The awards were handed out at the Midwest Energy Solutions Conference that was held from 9-11 January in Chicago (Illinois, U.S.A.). At the meeting, hundreds of energy-related leaders gathered to discuss the state of energy efficiency in the Midwest U.S.A.
