Global Energy Basel presents case studies
September 25, 2008
Global Energy Basel (GEB) is the first global partnering platform for integrated energy solutions, bringing together decision-makers from the public and private sector with representatives from the scientific community and NGOs. Global energy leaders meet from 12 to 14 November 2008 at the Congress Center Basel, Switzerland, to present and discuss exemplary solutions for secure and sustainable energy supply.
Focus of Global Energy Basel: urban development and infrastructure
The focus of Global Energy Basel will be on large infrastructure and urban development projects. The experience and knowledge gained by the sponsors, initiators and other stakeholders of energy and sustainability projects will form the basis for discussion and decision-making.
Online database of case studies
Case studies presented in Basel include the Dreispitz Zone in northern Switzerland, a commercial and industrial site that is being transformed to a lively urban district, and the ‘Smart Grid’ City of Boulder, Colorado. An online database complements the event with projects already implemented, as well as those currently in progress or yet to be started. The database can be accessed by interested parties at http://casestudies.globalenergybasel.com/.
