ICLEI welcomes new Korea Office Director

Ms Park Yeon Hee is the new Director of the ICLEI Korea Office, soon to be based in Suwon, South Korea.

Ms Park Yeon Hee was the former Chief Director of the Korea Institute Center for Sustainable Development (KICSD). Prior to this, she was Director of International Programs of the Agenda21 Action Council for Gyeonggi-do Province (GGAG21), and was Program Coordinator of International Cooperation with the Korea Christian Council for Social Development (KCCSD) and the Mobum Community Education Center.

Ms Park Yeon Hee also holds a BA in Geography and MA in Community Education from SungShin Women's University and Myoungji University in Korea respectively, as well as an MA in Community Development from the University of the Philippines.

For the past 6 years, ICLEI Korea has been generously supported by the Self Governing Province of Jeju, and driven by the outstanding leadership of former Korea Office Director Chin Dae-shik.

As the new host city of the Korea Office, Suwon - a committed and active ICLEI Member since 2005 – will be working closely with ICLEI Members and stakeholders in Korea to expand the portfolio of ICLEI programs and events offered in the region.
