Cities for Climate Protection – Integrated Action (CCP-IA) is our 'next generation' capacity-building framework for local government action on climate change.

CCP-IA focuses on two streams of action: climate change mitigation (CCP-Mitigate) and climate change adaptation (CCP-Adapt), and is underpinned by political support and expert climate action advice.

See About CCP-IA for more details.

What's New?

    • Corporate Action Projects now available: ICLEI Oceania and Ironbark Sustainability have identified a range of products and services to deliver to councils on a competitive fee-for-service basis, focusing on Sustainable Facilities and Sustainable Public Lighting. More>
    • Adaptation Action Planning Underway: Councils participating in the Adaptive and Resilient Communities Program (to be amalgamated into CCP-IA from July 2010) have started a collaborative process for developing adaptation actions that address key climate change risks identified during earlier stages of the program.

The action planning process includes the development of adaptation goals, documenting assumptions for each identified climate risk, and brainstorming possible options for treating climate risk.It is expected that a number of actions developed for early implementation will address current data and information gaps at council as well as stakeholder engagement strategies on climate change adaptation.
    • Take part in CCP-IA: CCP-IA is currently inviting councils to register their interest in the program. Contact Martin Brennan, CEO, ph: +61 3 9660 2299.
